Subscribe              Jun 2, 2021           Dear reader The PSNI has issued an apology for the way it policed a Black Lives Matter protest in Belfast in June last year.  PSNI Deputy Chief Constable Mark Hamilton acknowledged the way in which the protests were policed "unintentionally damaged the confidence and trust of the Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic Community". It was also revealed that the Public Prosecution Service (PPS) has also ruled that the 14 people who attended protests in Londonderry and Belfast and who were recommended for prosecution by the PSNI will not now be prosecuted. The country music star Nathan Carter has issued a statement of apology after police attended his home over the weekend.  Officers found that a party was in breach of Covid-19 rules and  issued a £1,000 fine to the organiser of the event and 14 fines of £200 to attendees.
