News   What's On   Lifestyle              May 27, 2020           Good afternoon everyone Another two Covid-19 deaths in Northern Ireland were confirmed on Wednesday, taking our death tally in the Province to 516.  However, the pattern of more hopeful statistics in recent days from the Department of Health continued as it was revealed that eight people in Northern Ireland are currently in intensive care units here with Covid-19. That number is down appreciably from previous weeks.  While the statistics from hospitals show an improving picture, the economic gloom is harder to lift. It was revealed on Wednesday that some hauliers here are on their knees and will fail following the coronavirus lockdown.  Seamus Leheny, policy manager at the Freight Transport Association (FTA), urged the reform of insolvency rules to make it easier for those bankrupted by the frozen economy to start again. In one piece of brighter news, one of our much-loved fast food institutions, McDonald's, is on the way back. All of Northern Ireland's 'drive-thru' McDonald's restaurants are to open from next week. They will also be open to deliveries.  The reopening of bars might be a long way off yet, but JD Wetherspoon, which has premises in Northern Ireland, has outlined how its pubs will operate once restrictions are lifted.
