Although there are signs of optimism it has been reported today that a further two people in Northern Ireland have died having tested positive for Coronavirus. There are currently 102 people being treated for the virus in hospitals across Northern Ireland.
There is still a lot of pressure on our hospitals with general bed occupancy being stated at 101%. More positively the number of intensive care beds currently being used is 80%
Hairdressers in Northern Ireland have spoken of their anger and frustration at the slower easing of lockdown and the lack of information from Stormont. Monica Fee, who runs a salon in Londonderry, said there appears to be "no rhyme or reason" to explain why Northern Ireland is taking longer than other parts of the UK to allow people like her to get back to work.

Meanwhile a leading Northern Ireland doctor has encouraged older people to keep coming forward for their Astra Zeneca coronavirus vaccination amid concern about links to rare blood clots. Dr Tom Black, a Londonderry-based GP who chairs the British Medical Association in Northern Ireland, told the News Letter it remains "very sensible" for older people to come forward for the vaccine.
