Dear reader A leading teaching union in Northern Ireland has called for teachers to be prioritised for vaccination in Northern Ireland. Dr Patrick Roach, general secretary of the NASUWT, says that widespread vaccination of teachers would be the best means of getting children back into the classroom. It feels like a timely intervention just as schools here have been closed until at least half term, and it will be welcomed by parents across Northern Ireland, who are in despair at the prospect of home-schooling. Dr Roach spoke out amidst a high-profile intervention from former world champion boxer Carl Frampton. The Tigers Bay man posted a tweet on Thursday, criticising Stormont's politicians for closing down schools here while churches remained open. Alistair Bushe, Editor
