The UK is on course to vaccinate most adults by May, raising hopes of normality returning for spring and certainly summer, but Dr Michael McBride has warned restrictions will be here for the rest of this year and part of next year. In a crushing blow to those who are hoping normal life could return soon, Dr McBride warned that tougher restrictions could return again in the autumn and winter. In more optimistic news, the number of new Covid-19 infections here continues to remain lower than recently, with 275 people testing positive in the last 24 hours.
