The wait is set to go on for parents who are anxiously wondering whether their children will return to the classroom as planned on March 8.
It had been expected that the Stormont Executive would announce on Thursday whether schools would return in Northern Ireland early next month after being closed since before Christmas to all but children of essential workers.
Some pupils are set to return to the classroom in Scotland next week, with Boris Johnson due to make an announcement on English schools early next as part of his route to recovery plan.
That brings the total number of people who have died with the virus in Northern Ireland to 2,009. There have also been another 341 positive cases of Covid-19 recorded here over the last 24 hours.
