The Stormont Executive is tonight expected to announce new restrictions in a bid to combat the rise in new Covid-19 cases in Northern Ireland.
It is believed that the greater Belfast area, which has seen a steep rise in recent cases, could be subject to tightened measures.
Postcodes are anticipated to be used to delineate where the beefed-up restrictions will apply.
The measures are expected to be unveiled during a joint press conference by Arlene Foster and Michelle O'Neill, the first time the two leaders have appeared together since the fall-out caused by the Bobby Storey funeral in the summer.
Meanwhile, the Department of Health here has confirmed the death of a man who had tested positive for Covid-19. Another 78 positive cases of Covid-19 were confirmed here in the last 24 hours.
Police have confirmed that they issued 10 community resolution notices and eight fixed penalty notices, which carry a £60 fine, after responding to a number of parties at residential addresses in the Holyland area of south Belfast in the early hours of Thursday. The police action followed young people not following health and safety guidelines in relation to coronavirus.
Take care
