Both of Northern Ireland's universities have issued a warning to their students after reports that Covid-19 rules have been flouted by young people in the Holylands area of Belfast.
They claimed that as many as 7,500 jobs are at risk with the coronavirus pandemic bringing the sector to the brink of "collapse".
Touring, festival and theatre events have effectively stopped since March and with no resumption in sight, a global day of awareness has been organised for Wednesday, September 30. The Northern Ireland event will be organised by the WeMakeEventsNI team.
Another two coronavirus related deaths in Northern Ireland were confirmed by the Department of Health on Wednesday, with a man and woman passing away.
